Abstract

Consciousness raising (C R) as one type of formal instructions on second language learning has remained to be a controversial issue within the field of EFL teaching. This paper starts with a brief review of what conciousness raising is, theories behind it and different opinions of C R, and has examined howd it facilitates second language learning.
