Cytological Observation of Microsporogenesis in the Potato(Yanshu 4)

Morphology characters of microsporogenesis and developmental stage of potato(cultivar Yanshu 4) were observed under optical microscope with the method of paraffin sectioning.The results showed that microspore of Yanshu 4 developed sporogenous cell,microspore mother cell and tetrad.Tetrad and tapetum respectively belonged to tetrahedral and secretory.Microspore of Yanshu 4 showed highly sterile,abortion appeared at beginning of tetrad,and the main feature was tetrad callose could not timely degrade which caused longer tetrad stage,contraction and degradation of nuclear,and irregular and empty microspore.
