Abstract

By introducing the landscape pattern indexex of dynamic degree of land use and land use cover change,spatial pattern change is analyzed from 1996 to 2004 in Zhangye city.The results are as follows: the pattern of land use is mainly composed of grassland,woodland and unused land;there is an increase of construction land and a decrease of cultivated land and grassland;during 1996～2004,land use/cover change fractal dimension strengthened gradually,especially in Shandan and Minle city.
