Abstract
Laser Raman spectroscopy and cathodoluminescence images reveal that inclusions of UHP minerals represented by coesite occur in zoned zircons from strongly retrograded metamorphic rocks in Dabie-Sulu UHP terrane, including orthogneiss, paragneiss, amphibolite, kyanite-bearing quartzite, impure marble and mica schist, and that they all record very uniform temperature-pressure conditions of UHP metamorphism: T=732-866℃ and p=2.8-4.0 GPa. The common occurrence of UHP mineral inclusions in zircons of eclogite and its country rocks in the Dabie-Sulu terrane suggests that voluminous continental materials were subducted to the mantle depth (120 km) and experienced UHP metamorphism.
