Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between gastric electrical activity and functional dyspepsia(FD). Methods The changes of gastric electrical activity of 56 patients with FD and 50 healthy controls were determined by electrogastrography(EGG) for 30 minute test of pre-meal and post-meal. Results The preprandial gastric dysthymias in FD group were higher than those in control group( 48.2% vs 20.0%),and the postprandial gastric dysthymias in FD were higher than those in control group( 32.1% vs 14.0%) P 0.05.The value of preprandial and postprandial instability coefficient of the dominant frequency in FD group was higher than that in control group. There was significant difference between the two groups(P 0.05). Conclusion There were abnormal preprandial and postprandial gastric electrical activities in the patients with FD. Transcutaneous EGG is helpful in the diagnosis of FD.
