Abstract
This paper gives a review of the preparation method of inorganic high polymer coagulant polyferric sulfate. The present situation of the studies and the production of PFS is discussed. It points out the merit and the shortcoming of the preparation methods of PFS with ferrous sulfate, pyrite cinder and other slags containing iron. Some suggestions about present problems and development direction in the production of PFS have been put forward. In other hand ,the influence of polyferric sulfate basicity on stability and coagulating effect is reported. The coagulating effects of polyferric sulfate with the basicity from 0 to 20%. The result is different from polyaluminium chloride. Comparing polyferric with polyaluminium, there is not secondary pollutant in the application process of polyferric. The coagulating ability of polyferric is higher than polyaluminium in the treatment of some wastewater. So the application prospect of polyferric is very good in the future.
