Abstract
The concept of forest externality,both of domestic and overseas research status of forest externality evaluation were discussed,the classification and the evaluation methodology of forest externality were elaborated and analyzed.The problems related to forest externality evaluation and the development tendency of forest externality study was put forward according to the nowadays reality in China.This kind of study will be helpful to standardization of evaluation methodology for forest ecological benefits and for related practice.
