Abstract

In the paper a commercial vehicle powertrain was analyzed according to the Chinese national standard (GB) and the requirements for use as an example, that was accomplished in matching the commercial vehicle powertrain among three typical diesel engines by simulation and road testing results in pursuit of the fuel economy and driving performance. The performance of the vehicle equipped with engine A was better than that equipped with engine B. And after improving the engine B into engine C, when it matched with the vehicle, the vehicle's performance also had a notable improvement. In purpose to improve the fuel economy and driving performance of commercial vehicles greatly, planning new vehicle must synthronize with the engine design. And a technical method was illuminated for optimizing commercial vehicle powertrain and engine specific in the paper.
