Abstract

A higher order shear deformation theory based on global-local displacement hypothesis is proposed This theory fully satisfies interlaminar displacement and stress continuity and shear traction conditions on both the top and bottom free surfaces Numerical results show that the higher order shear deformation theory can not only describe free shear deformation, but also calculate accurately the global displacements and the transverse shear stresses
