Abstract
A numerical models of 3D joint element with zero thickness, uniform thickness and variable thickness were proposed. The solving steps by applying hierarichial finite element method (FEM) of the 3D joint elements were given. Two examples were computed with the model and the results indicated the feasibility and superiority of pversion FEM when solving finite element problems containing joint elements.
