Abstract
The microstructure,fracture appearance and microareas′ composition of the quasi-as-cast bainite low carbon ductile iron were analyzed and studied with SEM and X-ray diffraction.The results show that the matrix of the low carbon ductile iron is mainly acicular carbon-free bainite structure with some austenite(about 25%~28%) after the quasi-as-cast bainite process;The enhancement of toughness and plasticity of quasi-as-cast bainite low carbon ductile iron is contributed by the large amount of austenite and acicular carbon-free bainite inlaying in the austenite.
