Clinical Research of Treating Knee Osteoarthritis by Gesan Qibing Moxibustion

Objective: To observe the effect of Gesan Qibing moxibustion on knee osteoarthritis. Methods: 80patients,up to 110 knees were devided into two groups randomly. The treatment group was treated with Gesan Qibing moxibustion once a day,totally 20 days; Control group was treated with 75mg Diclofenac Sodium Sustained Release Tablets each day,totally 20 days. The changes were evaluated by using WOMAC questionnaire before and after the treatment. Results: All the cases were evaluated according to the curative effect after 20times treatment. The result showed that there was an obvious difference in stiffness and dysfunction of joints between two groups( P 0. 05),and the treatment group was better than the control group; there was no significant difference before and after treatment in pain marks between the two groups( P 0. 05). Judge the curative effect and there was an obvious difference after follow-up two months( P 0. 01),and the treatment group was obviously superior to the control group. Conclusion: Gesan Qibing moxibustion is obviously effective for KOA with stagnation of blood,which is worth researching forward and popularization.
