Abstract
New progress on the catalytic epoxidation of cyclohexene was reviewed. In recent years, the catalytic epoxidation of cyclohexene is attracting more interests because of its convenient source of oxidant and the environmental friendly nature of the oxidant. Some new methods of the preparation of cyclohexene oxide by catalytic epoxidation of cyclohexene werld described. The catalytic oxidation reactions were carried out using a variety of oxidants such as hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2),tert-butyl hydroperoxide(TBHP) and molecular oxygen(O_2),and a variety of transition metal catalysts with ligand systems such as Schiff bases, porphyrins, phthalocyanine and heteropoly acid. The reaction mechanism was also discussed.
