Abstract
Bioassays on choice response of alate Myzus persicae(Sulzer) by 30 aroma plant materials were conducted in a basin-typed olfactometer using L8(27) orthogonal array design. The results of orthogonal array design showed that the response indices of alate M.persicae to Kaempferia galanga,Citrus tangerina and Angelica dahurica were 0.6368,0.5198,and 0.5058,respectively,which were the highest among the tested materials. The results of verification tests by applying single sample showed that the repellent percentages of K.galanga,C.tangerina and A.dahurica to alate M.persicae were 62.04%,56.79% and 56.79%,respectively,significantly better than that of methyl salicylate,a compound being reported having repellent effect on many aphid species previously.
