Abstract
A new method for synthesizing monodisperse silica spheres was reported. By rapidly adding raw material into the reaction system step by step, the different-sized silica spheres with narrow diameter distribution were obtained. The advantage of this method is that the large spheres can be synthesized in a short time. These spheres were used for the construction of photonic crystal with good optical properties.
