Effects on stability of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase of several effectors

Abstract

To optimize the condition of bio-conversion in the process of bio-converting trans-cinnamic acid into L-Phenylalanine by phenylalanine ammonia-lyase(PAL), adding effectors was applied to increase the stability of PAL. By single-factor experiments, the effects to the stability of PAL of sodium glutamate, sodium alginate, polyethylene glycol, glycerin, zinc powder, nitrogen gas were studied. By orthogonal experiment and diversity analysis, 1.0g/L zinc powder and 20g/L sodium glutamate added to conversion-solution, the concentration of L-Phenylalanine was increased by 55%, finding that those two effectors had significant effects to stability of PAL.
