Chronic toxicity study of Shoumingshan Capsules in rats

Objective To observe the chronic toxicity of Shoumingshan Capsules in rats.Methods Rats were administrated Shoumingshan Capsules at dose of 7.04 and 1.76 g·kg-1·d-1,respectively,6 days per week(except Tuesday) for 6 months.Rats in positive control group and negative control group were given distilled water with the same volume,respectively.The effects on general status,body weight changes,blood cytology and biochemistry,dissection and histopathology were observed after drug discontinuance 4 weeks.Results The weights,indices of hematology and organ coefficients had no anomaly.There were no significant difference between treating groups and control group in blood biochemical indicators.No obvious pathological changes was found in major organ by autopsy.Conclusion Shoumingshan Capsules had no significant toxicity for long term administration for rats.
