Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of psychological intervention on anxiety and depression symptoms of patients with lung cancer using meta-analysis.Methods Wan Fang,CNKI,VIP and CBM databases were searched for clinical controlled trials on effect of psychological intervention on anxiety and depression symptoms of patients with lung cancer.Data were analyzed with RevMan 5.1.6 and Stata 12.0 softwares. Results were described as standardized mean difference or odds ratio with 95% confidence intervals. Results A total of 8 clinical controlled trials involving 608 lung cancer patients(349 in intervention group and 259 in control group) were included in this systematic review.Meta-analysis showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups in pre-intervention self-rating depression scale scores and self-rating anxiety scale scores.However,post-intervention self-rating depression scale scores and self-rating anxiety scale scores of the intervention group were significantly lower than that of the control group(P≤0.05).Conclusion The present data suggest that psychological intervention may considerably improve anxiety and depression symptoms and quality of life of patients with lung cancer.Further well-designed randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm current conclusions.
