Abstract

Objective:To explore hyperbaric oxygen treatment on severe craniocerebral injury improving consciousness of patients. Methods: Retrospective analysis of the consciousness change between 61 cases of severe head injury patients treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy and 34 cases without treatment with hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The cases were selected in our department. Results: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy improved Patients' consciousness levels,i.e,the total effective rate in treatment group is significantly higher than that of control group. Conclusion:Hyperbaric oxygen can improve the function of nervous system in many ways, including promoting the cerebral tissue repairing, improving the levels of consciousness, reducing the rate of disability and improving patients' rehabilitation levels.
