Abstract

The effect of drought stress on the physiological and biochemcal indexes of maize seedlings was studied using the method of artificial water control. The results showed that drought stress could increase peroxidase(POD) activity and the contents of malondialdehyde(MDA) and proline(Pro) significantly, damage the membrane and increase the membrane permeability. Moreover, excessive drought could cause certain damage to maize seedlings.
