Abstract
Objective To discuss the value of 64 MDCT angiography in diagnosis of spontaneous superior mesenteric artery(SMA) dissection. Methods The axial CT and postprocessing images of 8 patients with isolated SMA dissection diagnosed by 64 MDCT angiography were analyzed retrospectively. Results The axial CT,MPR and CPR could clearly demonstrate imaging features of SMA dissection, including true and false lumen and detached intimal flap(n=8),ruptured intimal orifice(n=3),thrombus in the false lumen(n=7),aneurysmal dilatation of dissection(n=2),bowel ischemia(n=1).MIP and VR displayed stenosis of true lumen(n=5),detached intimal flap(n=4),involved branches of SMA(n=2),aneurysmal dilatation of dissection(n=2).Conclusion 64-MDCT angiography and the correlative postprocessing technique could accurately evaluate spontaneous SMA dissection, which provide valuable information for clinical management.
