Mechanisms of apoptosis and autophagy inacinar cell and their relationship during acute pancreatitis

Acute pancreatitis is a severe illness with inadequate effective treatment,the main reasons for this is due to the complexity of its pathogenesis. Acinar cell injury usually occurred early in the course of acute pancreatitis,the way of acinar cell death plays a vital role in the development and prognosis in acute pancreatitis. Different manners of acinar cell death have great influence on trypsin release and affects the severity of acute pancreatitis indirectly. The present review will focus on the characteristics and mechanisms of apoptosis and autophagy,their relationship between acute pancreatitis,as well as the relationship between the two in the course of acute pancreatitis.
