A Review of the Theory about the Relationship between Language and Thought

Abstract

This paper reviews some theories about the relationship between language and thought.It is believed that language and thought are two kinds of different psychological phenomena with diverse patterns of occurrence and development,and that thought precedes language.Nevertheless,language and thought,as observed in the paper,interact with each other,and their relationship varies in different phases of development under diverse circumstances.
