Abstract
Objective To investigate the antithrombotic effective and safe of adjusted dose warfarin senile patients with atrial fibrillation. Methods Seventy five patients older than 75 years with atrial fibrillation in our hospital from January 2005 to December 2009 were randomly divided into warfarin group(35 cases) and aspilin group(40 cases);the warfarin group was administrated with warfarin, while the aspilin group with aspilin. The original dose of warfarin was 2.5 mg/d,to adjusted dose according with the international normalized ratio(INR) controlled in 2.0 to 2.5;the dose of aspilin was 100 mg/d.All patients were followed up for 1 year. The chemic stroke and bleeding complication were recorded and compared. Results The incidence rate of ischemic stroke were 5.7% and 22.5% in warfarin group and aspilin group,respectively(P0.05);there was no serious bleeding occurred in both groups, the rates of minor bleeding were 8.6% and 7.5%(P0.05).Conclusion Under the intensive monitoring INR(2.0 to 2.5),the adjusted dose warfarin can safely and remarkably reduce the incidence of thrombo embolism in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation.
