Abstract

The dynamic deformation characteristics of coarse dam material are extremely complex under the situation of high stress.Dynamic constitutive model reflecting the vibration hardening of materials, dynamic model of the residual deformation of coarse granule considering the effect of initial consolidation confining stress, and the relationship between the pore pressure ratio and the dynamic shear stress ratio obtained in test are used to study the seismic response characteristics of high earth rockfill dam.The results show that maximum horizontal acceleration of the dam is 3.97 m/s2 when suffering artificial wave synthesized by site-specific response spectrum, which appears at dam crest;vertical permanent deformation is 0.17% of dam height;permanent deformation of upstream slope is larger than that of downstream slope because of reservoir filling;dynamic pore pressure ratio of dam core material, filter material and the foundation sand are smaller than 0.3,so the liquefaction does not occur. Thus, the seismic performance of high earth rockfill dam built upon bedrock has good anti-seismic property.
