Abstract
The basic mode of farmland consolidation in Japan as well as its practice of the ownership adjustment was introduced.The existing problems in the intensive utilization of rural land in China were analyzed.The enlightenment from the farmland consolidation in Japan for the intensive utilization of rural land in China was also discussed.The results indicate that the regulations and laws should be employed to ensure and help farmers to intensively utilize land and realize large scale operation of the land;the land consolidation scale may be reduced and the land consolidation range is steadily raised so as to improve the sustainable development of land consolidation industry.
