A Look at the Influence of the Han Dynasty Folk Religion on Art Based on the Observation of the Han Dynasty Stone Relief in Central China

Religious ideology was prevailing in the Han Dynasty.Confucianism,which was the official religion,and Taoism,which was a folk religion were ideologically confrontational yet mutually dependent on each other,both of which had a profound influence on the existent state and development trend of arts.Under such influence,the art in the Han Dynasty exuded the following three characteristics: concurrence of realistic spirit and romantic spirit,the reflection of religious theme and religious thinking in terms of content,and the vigor and the great momentum and elegance in aesthetic style.Moreover,the Han Dynasty stone reliefs in Central China forcefully and vividly annotate and testify to the above three characteristics of the art in the Han Dynasty.
