Modified Zhizhu Decoction in the Treatment of Functional Constipation

Abstract

Objective:To observe the curative effects and long-term effects of Modified Zhizhu Decoction in the treatment of functional constipation.Methods:Base on Roma Ⅱ criteria for elimination of anorectal organic diseases,76 patients suffered from functional constipation were randomized into treatment group(40 cases) treated with Modified Zhizhu Decoction and control group(36 cases) treated with phenlphthclein tablets.Results: Two weeks after treatment,effective rate in control group and treatment group was 63.9% and 90.0%,respectively,the difference being significant(χ2=7.439 2,P0.05).Two weeks after drug withdrawal,11 patients recurred in control group and only 2 patients recurred in treatment group,the difference being statistically significant(χ2=14.596 8,P0.05).Conclusion: Modified Zhizhu Decoction possesses obvious therapeutic effects and lower recurrence rate in treating functional constipation.
