The selection and application of PICC catheter in chemotherapy of tumor

Objective To provide basis for reasonable selection of puncture method, through the comparison of two ways by peripheral vein inserted central venous catheter(PICC) puncture success rate, complication rate, comfort effect. Methods 120 cases from September 2013 to August 2014 due to chemotherapy needed for PICC tube in our hospital were collected, and were divided into observation group and control group, 60 cases in each, the control group was treated with traditional drainage catheter, the observation group treated with ultrasound guided under combined with modified Seldinger puncture technique method of catheter. Two groups of patients with the success rate of catheterization, catheter operation, indwelling time, complication rate and patient comfort were all observed. Results The observation group of patients with a catheter success rate for 81.67%, significantly higher than the control group of 43.33%, the difference between the two groups has statistical significance(P 0.05). Observation group of catheter operation time is lower than that of the control group, the catheter indwelling time than that of the control group was obviously prolonged, the difference between the two groups has statistical significance(P 0.05). Observation groups in the process of using complication rate was 6.67%, significantly lower than that of control group of 23.33%, the difference between the two groups has statistical significance(P 0.05). Observation group of patients with total comfortable rate was 95.00%, was significantly higher than that of the 85.00% of the control group, the difference between the two groups has statistical significance(P 0.05). Conclusion Under puncture guided by ultrasound catheter success rate is high, fewer complications, can increase patient comfort, but the traditional method of puncture on vascular conditions good patient is still the most appropriate choice.
