NURSING CARE OF PNEUMOCYSTIS CARINII PNEUMONIA PATIENTS COMPLICATED WITH ARDS ACCEPTING MECHANICAL VENTILATION TREATMENT

Objective To explore the treatment and care effect of mechanical ventilation on patients with pneumocystis carinii pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS).Methods The clinical data and nursing process of 10 cases with pneumocystis carinii pneumonia and ARDS were retrospectively analysed.Results 8 patients recovered and were discharged from the hospital,and 2 case gave up the continuing treatment for economic reasons.Mechanical ventilation time was between 4.5 and 10.5 days with the average of 7.8 days.No mechanical ventilation-related complications occurred.The treatment ranged from 5 days to 9.8 days with the average of 12.3 days in ICU.Conclusion Early diagnosis,early ventilator treatment and careful nursing can shorten the courses of disease and promote the patient recovery.
