Climatic Features and Prediction Methods of Fog in Benxi

Abstract
Based on the fog weather data from 1971 to 2006 and the conventional meteorological data from 1990 to 1995 in Benxi city,the temporal and spatial distributions of fog and its relation with the meteorological factors were analyzed,the basic variation laws of fog were found.With the analysis of 109 fog cases,the surface pressure fields for fog formation could be divided into three types(surface cyclone,high-pressure front,inverted trough),and then the prediction indices of fog meterological factors were summarized and the comprehensive fog prediction model was contructed.
