Abstract

In the ocean wave-guide,the performance of the passive time-reversal location with a single horizontal array descends rapidly if the direction of the wave source changes. For a horizontal array of 298 hydrophones with 1 meter separation between two hydrophones, when the angle between the direction of the incident signal and the horizontal array line is more than 70 degree, the passive location will fail.In order to solve the problem,a combined horizontal array made up of three sub-arrays is put forward in this paper, the angle between the three arrays is 60 degree, the numbers of hydrophones of the three sub-arrays are 100,99,99,and the distance between every two hydrophones is 1 meter. No matter what the direction of the wave source is,the effective aperture of the combined array is more than 150 meters, which achieves effective passive location to the targets in all areas.
