Abstract

Considering the restraining moment of the secondary beam, the paper deduces formulas for calculating torsional moment of edge beam of frame. Primary factors of affecting torsional moment are analyzed. Analysis indicates that it decreases the torsional moment of edge beam of frame, which attaches cantilevering beam, remarkably to consider the restrain of the secondary beam. It is not safe that the restrain moment is not considered for the edge beam of the common frame.
