Abstract
Objective:This study was undertaken to assess the prediction of fetal heart rate(FHR)to fetus survival in early pregnancy, especially to threaten and habitual abortion cases.Methods:415 cases, gestation age of 5-9 +6 weeks, with normal early pregnancy or signs of threaten abortion or the history of habitual abortion were collected from pregnant women in outpatient department from 2003 to 2007.All cases' gestational sac(GS)diameter,crown-rump length(CRL)and FHR were measured by ultrasonography. Then, the fetus nuchal translucency(NT)were measured if the pregnancy continued to reach gestation age of 11-14 weeks. The relationship between FHR and fetus survival,NT were analyzed by chi square test. Results:In the cases with lower fetal heart rate in early pregnancy, fetus survival rates decreased(p0.05)and the incidence of thick NT was on the rise(p0.05).Conclusions:Lower FHR in early pregnancy is correlated with increased NT and fetus survival. Therefore,FHR could be used as a way to screen and diagnose fetal anomaly in the second and third trimester.
