Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in treating primary liver cancer

Abstract

Objective To discuss the effect of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) in treating primary liver cancer.Methods The data were retrospectively analyzed of 248 patients with primary liver cancer treated with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization from September,2005 to September,2009.And the related factors of the affecting treatment of liver cancer were discussed.Results The effect of treatment for primary liver cancer was obvious,the survival rate of one year,two years,three years and five years were 73.24%,49.3%,24.24%,9.68% and 8.05% respectively.Conclusion TACE is the f irst method of the treatment for inoperable primary liver cancer.Adopting appropriate treatment method can obviously improve the effect.
