Abstract
Objective:To investigate the surgery of secondary posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation in special cases of capsule coloboma.Method:Nineteen eyes of 19 patients with capsule coloboma underwent secondary posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation which were fixed in the intra sclera and sutureless, the folded three-pieces of intraocular lens were injected into the posterior chamber through the incision on the clear cornea, the loops passed out though the scleral flap 2 mm after the limbus and went into the pre-made scleral tunnel incision.Postoperative followup included intraocular pressure,best-corrected visual acuity,IOL stability, and other postoperative complications for over 6 months.Result:Nineteen eyes of 19 patients were involved in the study, visual acuity after surgery was better than 0.6 in 13 eyes, between 0.2 and 0.6 in 6 eyes, all patients experienced obvious vision improvement with normal intraocular pressure, the IOLs were centered without tilt or decentration,no severe complications such as endophthalmitis, low intraocular pressure, coneal decompensatory were observed during the follow-up.Conclusion:Sutureless intrascleral posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation is a reliable and effective therapy for eyes without posterior capsular support.
