Abstract

A simultaneous and fast determination of 16 phthalate esters(PAEs) in edible vegetable oils was developed. After solvent extraction, the PAEs in the oil sample were further cleanup by solid phase extraction. After concentration, the extract was directly injected into gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(GC-MS/MS).Method quantification limits of 16 PAEs were 0.004~0.01 mg/kg.Quantitative recoveries were 67.5%~117% by analysis of spiked vegetable oil in low, middle and higher levels. The relative standard deviations were less than 15%(n=6).The method could potentially overcome the interference from large amounts of lipids and pigment, and the whole analysis could be completed within 1 h.It showed to be a rapid and reliable alternative for determination and confirmation of PAEs in the routine analysis.
