FEATURES OF CORONARY ARTERY LESION IN CORONARY HEART DISEASE PATIENTS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS

Objective:To investigate features of coronary artery lesion in coronary heart disease(CHD) patients with diabetes mellitus(DM).Methods:A total of 196 CHD patients with coronary angiography(CAG) were analysed retrospectively.They were divided into two groups:80 cases of CHD patients with DM and 116 cases of CHD patients with normal glucose level(control group).Clinical characteristics and CAG results were recorded and compared between two groups.Results:There were no differences in age,sex,smoking,body mass indices,the incidence of hypertension between the two groups(P0.05).The levels of cholesterol as well as triglyceride,low density lipoprotein cholesterol in the CHD with DM group were much higher than those in the control group(P0.05).High density lipoprotein cholesterol in the CHD with DM group were much lower than those in the control group(P0.05).Compared with the control group,patients in the CHD with DM group suffered more moderate and severe stenosis of coronary artery,multi-vessel lesions and diffuse vessel lesions(P0.05).Conclusion:CHD patients with DM are prone to having simultaneously many other risks of CHD,their coronary lesions are more severe and complicated multi-vessel lesions and diffuse vessel lesions.
