Abstract
Using a goniometer, changes of angle degree of the knee joints were measured for thirty healthy collegemen during a bout of the simplified Taichiquan Exercise.Decreased angle degrees of the knee joints were found at their functional position during exercise, which could be a main kinesiological mechanism of strengthening quadriceps induced by Taichiquan exercise for the stability of the knee joints. The finding that no influence of thigh length and leg length on the knee joint angle degree suggests that Taichiquan exercise strengthen both muscles around the knee joint and the stability of the knee joint in young population.
