Abstract
Objective To investigate the change of pelvic floor in female pelvic floor dysfunction (FPFD) with different age. Methods Anterior, middle, posterior pelric prolapse during Valsalva maneurer, and anal levator hiatus during resting and Valsalva maneuver were observed by perineum three-dimensional ultrasonography in 62 FPFD patients (25 cases, ?Y 60 years; 37 cases, 30??40 years). Results During Valsalva maneuver, the incidence of uterine prolapse and rectal bulging, urethral transfer angle, and bladder bulging and uterine prolapse distance were significantly higher in patients aged over 60 years than those in 30~40 years (P0.01 or 0.05). During resting and Valsalva maneuver, the vertical and transverse diameter, area and perimeter of anal levator hiatus increased remarkably in patients aged over 60 years compared with patients aged 30??40 years (P0.01 or 0.05). Conclusion The pelvic lesion is more severe in FPFD patients aged over 60 years than that in 30??40 years. Perineum ultrasound examination is a simple and objective method for evaluating the severity of FPFD.
