Abstract
Nearly a century research about flower color in both biochemistry and genetics,as well as the continuous development of genetics, confirmed the petunia could provide a best genetic analysis systems,together with application of genetic engineering,have allowed for the isolation and characterization of a large number of genes affecting flower color. The factors affecting petunia color,genetic regulation of petunia color,improvement method and application prospect of petunia color were discussed.
