Clinical Observation of "Chushi Zhiyang Mixture" in Treating Eczema and Its Effects on Serum IL-4

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Chushi Zhiyang Mixture in the treatment of eczema and its effects on IL-4. Methods Ninety subjects were randomized into three groups,30 cases in each group: Group A in which Chushi Zhiyang Mixture was given,group B in which Cetirizine was given and group C in which Chushi Zhiyang Mixture and Cetirizine were given,with a week in a course. The clinical efficacy and serum IL-4 were observed. Results The total effective rate was 83.33% in group A,63.33% in group B and 86.67% in group C; Ridit analysis showed that the effective rates were higher in groups A and C than group B(P 0.05),with no difference between group A and group C. After treatment,the serum IL-4 declined in group A(P 0.01),little in group B(P 0.05); there was a significant difference between groups A and B(P 0.01). Conclusion Chushi Zhiyang Mixture has positive effects on eczema and immunity.
