Study on Full Scale Test of Casing Wear

The casing wear often happens in the processes in drilling deep wells,high angle wells,extended reach wells,horizontal wells or in the internals of great dogleg severity or long open hole after the protective casing's being tripped in.For this,it will reduce oil/gas well life and even cause the abandonment of the well,causing big lost to the oil field.In the paper,full scale casing wear test machine of Maurer Enterprises is used to do full scale test,using different weighing material of iron-ore fines and barite in the mud,different lateral force,low friction compound,and analyze casing wear in different conditions,also give some methods to prevent and protect casing wear.
