On Ecological Civilization

In the Report to 17th National Congress of the CPC,the idea of ecological civilization was first written into the program of action of the Party,which is of great significance for China's social development and modernization construction.While nature is a basis of human existence and development,ecological civilization is an inevitable requirement of society existence and development.Since the socialist harmonious society requires coordination of various relations in which the relation between man and nature is the basic,ecological civilization is essential for a harmonious society.As an important governing concept,ecological civilization is necessary for implementing the scientific concept of development.Industrial civilization,at the cost of the imbalance of the relation between man and nature,is bound to give way to the new civilization of sustainable development.Therefore,ecological civilization is also an inevitable requirement of social progress.
