Abstract

A huge number of accreditation proposals mushroomed in the education circle throughout the world in recent years. The types of accreditation can be classified as follows: program accreditation and institution accreditation; public accreditation and private accreditation. The main function of accreditation is to control educational institutions and programs. In view of the many controversies over accreditation in education, the relevant parties are advised to pay more attention to the following aspects so that accreditation situation can be improved: emphasis on the public interests, quality of education, value discussion and control over educational professionals.
