Abstract
China's education tradition is developed upon the basis of traditional Chinese culture. The understanding of Chinese education and transformation of traditional educational ideas should be preceded by the learnings from the impact of traditional Chinese culture on Chinese education. For the sake of China's educational modernization, Chinese culture embedded with both fine traditions and feudal remains should be studied from a perspective of historical materialism, by means of rejecting the dross and assimilating the essence.
