Observations on the Efficacy of Acupuncture plus Massotherapy in Treating Vertebroarterial Cervical Spondylopathy

Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of acupuncture plus massotherapy in treating vertebroarterial cervical spondylopathy.Methods One hundred and sixty-three patients with vertebroarterial cervical spondylopathy were recruited and randomly allocated to three groups, a acupuncture plus massotherapy group of 57 cases, a simple acupuncture group of 54 cases and a simple massotherapy group of 52 cases.Posttreatment changes in the clinical symptoms were investigated.Results The therapeutic effect on vertebroarterial cervical spondylopathy was better in the acupuncture plus massotherapy group than in the simple acupuncture group and in the simple massotherapy group(P0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture plus massotherapy has a better therapeutic effect on vertebroarterial cervical spondylopathy than simple acupuncture or simple massotherapy.
