Abstract
The paper briefly reviews the basic competitive pattern of highway passenger transport with railway passenger transport in recent 20 years, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages between the two, defines the orientation of highway passenger transport rationally and proposes how the highway passenger transport to answer the competition from inter-city train transport.
