Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of using mitomycin C(MMC) during surgical treatment of epithelial ingrowth after laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK) with trauma. Methods 0.02% MMC was applied in surgical treatment of epithelial ingrowth after LASIK with trauma on 21 patients(21 eyes). The uncorrected visual acuity and the recovery of corneal flap were observed after surgery. Results The uncorrected visual acuity increased after surgery (P0.05).It was 0.82±0.26 postoperatively.Great majority of corneal flap recovered well.Fringe of the flap melted in 3 eyes, but the central visual acuity had no effect. Conclusion Excellent outcome was observed found in the surgical treatment of epithelial ingrowth after LASIK with trauma by using 0.02% MMC.
