Abstract

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of aspirin as on a model of cerebral ischemia rats. Methods The cerebral ischemia rat model was established by repeatedly clipping the common carotid artery of the rat in combination with reducing the rat’s blood pressure with an abdominal injection of sodium nitroprusside. The rats were separate into model group, normal group, normal+As group; the learning and memory were observed by Y-maze and water-maze; the death of hippocampal cells were detected by using microscope. ResultsY-maze test effect of learning is that model group rats are succeed at the learning averagely in 18.00min; normal group in 9.00min; normal+As group in 11.57min.Y-maze test effect of memory is that model group rats have 11.80 successful tests in the 20 memory tests averagely; normal group rats have 17.17; normal+As group rats have 15.29. Water-maze test effect of learning is that model group succeed in 219s; normal group in 87s; normal+As group in 151s. Water-maze test effect of memory is that model group succeed in 46s; normal group in 9s; normal+As group in 27s. Aspirin was shown to decrease injury in hippocampal CA1 region cells of the cerebral ischemia rats significantly in microscope. ConclusionAspirin has improve effects on learning and memory in the cerebral ischemia rats.
